Fragment 15 - Doing interviews

Still more often employers start the recruiting process with a telephone interivew. Because of this trend and the fact that the jobs I was applying for were far away this was also the case for me in most cases.

I tried to prepare for telephone interviews as thoroughly as for the face-to-face interviews. Then I made sure that my cell phone was open and fully charged. Finally I made sure that I had the relevant papers in front of me. However the companies did not always call at the scheduled time which of course was frustrating.

The preparation for the face-to-face interviews was in most cases very easy because I had made the preparations for the telephone interviews. Other than that I tried to stick to the dos and don'ts of this list. Some of the points may appear trivial but I think they are good to have in mind.

By writing "job interview from hell" or other similar search strings on YouTube some examples of what not to do during a job interview came up. This one is a funny but illustrative example of how a badly prepared interview appears.
